“I will definitely book with them again if Im lucky enough to visit paradise twice and highly recommend them.”
Highlights
The KLM Gaya Baru Indah is a traditional sailing phinisi offering liveaboard diving around Indonesia's 'Bird's Head Seascape', which includes Raja Ampat. She typically only takes 8 guests per cruise, meaning a more personalized and intimate service. There are 4 cabins available; two double cabins and 2 twin cabins, each with air-conditioning, fan, and reading light. There are 3 shared bathrooms on the upper deck with freshwater showers, shampoo, soap and a toilet. There is ample room to relax and enjoy the stunning surroundings aboard the Gaya Baru Indah liveaboard. During the day, awnings are set up to provide shade from the hot tropical sun, and in the evening, they are drawn back to make way for stargazing. Three delicious meals per day plus plenty of snacks are prepared with a mix of Indonesian and western cuisine. The Gaya Indah Baru has 13 crew catering to 8 passengers, meaning someone is always available to help the valued guests enjoy their trip to the maximum.
Itineraries are from 7 up to 12-days long, with night dives being offered throughout the trip. Dive groups are kept small with no more than 4 divers per guide, so ensure everyone gets the most out of every dive. Raja Ampat is quickly becoming known as one of the best places on earth to dive due to the extreme bio-diversity it offers. Raja Ampat offers the chance to see rays, sharks, colorful coral reefs and large schools of tropical fish, and the highlight of the cruise - whale sharks. The Gaya Baru Indah also visits Triton Bay and the Banda Sea, two more iconic dive areas with some of the best diving Indonesia has to offer. The shaded dive deck has ample space for individual gear storage and rinse tanks, and nitrox is included complimentary for those certified.
The Gaya Baru Indah is a fantastic budget option for a dive liveaboard to Raja Ampat, Triton Bay, the Banda Sea, and beyond. To reserve your space, call us or book online today.

Mesmerazing
Everything is well organised the operator and staff are super friendly and helpful. The diving was amazing nothing like i ever seen before. There was so much life going on as we did driftdives for the big sealife and wondered around for makro. The food was diverse and delightful. The wooden boat has its charme, there is enough space to rest or dance. I didnt spend much time in the cabines but for that they were good, although the bigger rooms had some issues: one got semi-flooded during rain and the other had unplesant gasoline-smell during the night. As mentioned before the diving was mesmerazing but our diveguide 'noldi' was far from plesant: not doing the dives as they were briefed, no communication underwater nor above and not really carring for the guests as this is a safety issue. Besides all that i had a great experiance and got very lucky with my companioned guests.

Avoid! Unsafe, unhygienic and dishonest operator
Avoid this operator. Safety, hygiene and even good mood and honesty in services advertised are not present on this boat. The itinerary was cut short to a trip around Waisai to save on fuel with 30% of the advertised dives and activities not taking place. No nitrox besides advertised. Crew and divemaster speak no to extremely limited English and you will be left to deal directly with them while none can take any initiative to improve anything or even understand feedback. The cabins are insect infested, they become saunas from the heat and leak water in the rain. Aircon works only during the day and in the night we were left with a tiny fan, the size of a computer fan. We were woken up multiple times during the night from crew having video calls, watching videos, spitting and peeing in the sea in front of the guest cabins. We had to constantly inhale black smoke from an ancient boat engine the whole day. We were treated with disrespect from the condescending owner/course director, especially the women among us. To wash our equipment in the end of the trip we had to share a rinse box in the size of a bathtub among guests and owner and dive guide with them washing their things first. When I say all equipment I mean from camera and masks to boots and fins. None asked us any feedback (how was your dive?) and we even had the owner/course director leaving conversations. Looking inside the kitchen and how the food is prepared, was a definite cut in the appetite. The actual functioning full bathrooms are 2 and there is one more shower and are to be shared with up to 8 guests and 11 crew members. They were not cleaned, or even have their bins emptied during 7 days. Last and most important: the emergency oxygen tank looks as if it stayed 5 years in the bottom of the sea, and the dingy operators besides their good will are completely untrained and will drive over you the moment you enter the water and when you ascent. The dive guide left a diver behind hooked in the reef in an extremely challenging current situation just to resurface the time the owner indicated (60 min dive).

- Air conditioner was broken for two days. - The cabin is *very* small... no place at all the unpack your suitcase - All the decks on the boat are covered, so no way to enjoy the sky at night - Not a friendly crew and limited english speaking for the dive masters

Amazing time with the Gaya Baru crew
I had a great time. We were only 7 divers sharing every meal, dives, and time off so we created a very nice atmosphere. The crew was very helpful and friendly, the food was great, and some of the dive sites were mind blowing. Everything was very well organised by Ralf.

Fantastic Diving Week in Raja Ampat on Gaya Baru Indah
Diving was outstanding - healthy corals, big schools of fish, mantas, sharks, etc. Food was delicious and the crew really helpful and friendly. We had one snorkeler in our group and the effort to give her a great experience as well was not 100% - we experienced better tours when it comes to this.

Best liveaboard ever!!
The whole crew including the diving master are 10 people and the guest are only us 5 people. Every day is so well planned with best diving sites no people at all in the south of Misool and all the best food and afternoon desserts. All the crew are soooo welcoming and lovely with smile and happiness every day. The diving sites in the south are soooo quiet even no divers at all always only us and the sites itself are all very clear and all fish walls and colorful corals. We saw mantas, sharks, countless nudibranches, turtles, squids, octopus etc. And at very last few day we asked for a boat tour around the islands too, the boss said yes also. It was a very good cruise too around those islands. It was such a nice liveaboard experience!!

Great 7 day dive trip in Raja Ampat
This boat is good value for money and it’s facilities are as advertised, which is why we picked it. It’s not luxurious but the food is really good and I personally enjoyed the charm of how the boat was laid out and operated. The boat and dive operations are highly professional, safe and on time. German precision at its best. The boat only takes 8 guests total which made it an awesome intimate and personalised experience much preferred to going with 14+ guests.
